"I am still looking," said Hall. "A&M has my verbal commitment, but I am still weighing my options with other schools."
The Central Senior High School product claims no list of favorites but admitted to having received one in home visit so far.
"Coach [Mike] Sherman came to my house and visited," said Hall. "He is replacing coach Franchione and he didn't seem like that bad of a guy."
The 4-star recruit was also impressed by a visit he received earlier in the year.
"Coach Miles from LSU had also come to visit me at my school," said Hall. "It's common to have coaches come to your school, but it is rare for a head coach to visit and chill with you. Coach Franchione had visited too, but he is no longer with A&M. I thought it was a great decision for coach Miles to stay at LSU and it did matter to me if he was still going to be there.
"Coach Peveto from LSU called me like 3 weeks ago as well," Hall added. "I like talking to him. He always has good stuff to talk about. He said he would really like to see me playing for LSU."
Could the speedy receiver see himself wearing purple and gold?
"I think I could fit in at LSU," said Hall. "I know I'd have to compete for playing time at LSU too because nothing is going to be given to you there. You have to work for it. LSU is recruiting me as an athlete. I'd prefer to play wide receiver or running back over a defensive position though because I like to have the ball in my hands.
"What I like about LSU is they are in one of the toughest conferences in college football and it is a good school as well," Hall continued. "LSU is just ‘ballin' right now. I think they are going to beat Ohio St. too. LSU has too many athletes for Ohio St and those boys work hard. Besides, Ohio State messed things up last year against Florida."
With his team's season being over, Hall has shifted his full attention to the classroom.
"I've been hitting the books hard," Hall stated. "I wish I would've known then what I know now. I was playing catch up with my G.P.A, but I'm straight now. I just want to be comfortable with school so I can sit back and watch the days pass by until it is time for college."
When does the talented wide-out believe he will know what college he will be attending?
"I do not know when, but I do know it will be made public on signing day," Hall answered. "Right now I am committed to A&M and it might stay that way until signing day, but on signing day I might surprise everyone by putting on another team's hat."
Note: Derrick Hall said this is his tentative official visit schedule. (LSU-January 25th, Texas A&M-December sometime and possibly a trip to Missouri). He stated he was unable to make his previously scheduled (12/8) trip to Missouri. Senior Clips
