Now the wait begins to see if defensive end Kirston Pittman will be granted a sixth year of eligibility after missing two full seasons with injury. Returning both defensive ends would be a huge start for Miles and whoever he names his new defensive coordinator. The major holes are to be filled at linebacker and in the secondary.
Offensively, Ryan Perrilloux seems to ready to lead the LSU offense. Gone are the Tigers' top running back (Jacob Hester) and wideout (Early Doucet), but there is tons of depth at both position as well as across the offensive front.
Below are our early bird projections of the depth chart for LSU if the season were to start tomorrow.
