Loston Gets Defensive-Minded

Eisenhower High School product Craig Loston (6-2.5, 210, 4.36) is already being regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the country.

Loston finished his junior season on defense with 92 tackles (74 solo), and 3 interceptions earning him 4-star honors by Scout.com. On offense, the dynamic DB was just as productive on offense. He racked up 850 total yards of offense (400 receiving yards and the other 447 yards coming by way of special teams).

Thus far, the student athlete out of Houston, Texas has received just one offer (Texas A&M) with more offers more than likely on their way soon.

"Texas A&M is the only school I've received an offer from so far," said Loston. "They offered it to me verbally and I am expecting them to send it to me in writing pretty soon. Throughout this past season I received most of my letters from Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, California and USC. If I had to name my top teams right now, they would be Georgia and Clemson even though neither have offered me.

"I had LSU up there as well with the other two teams, but I haven't received anything from them yet," Loston added. "If I would get some feedback from them then they would still be at the top of my list because I think they have a solid defense. I know it is still early so hopefully I'll hear something from them soon. I have to see how my schedule looks, but I think I will probably be able to make it to their junior day on February 24th."

When deciding what teams to put atop his list, Lofton claims there are two ingredients teams must possess to gain his interest.

"I am a defensive-minded guy," said Loston. "When I go to pick out my top teams I look to see if they have a solid defense and if I feel like the team has a legit shot at playing for the national title in the near future."
