"Things have been going well," Minter informed. "I've been working out, doing push-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups, rows as well as working on my speed at the track. Today I maxed out in squat at 575lbs. My max in bench is 320lbs. with a 320lb. max in power clean."
The ball-hawk of a linebacker completed his junior season with 137 tackles and six sacks while taking home All-County and All-State honors. His confidence and ability on the field at the high school level is already earning him looks from the level above.
"I've received offers from LSU, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Purdue, Ole Miss, Kentucky and N.C. State," Minter stated. "It feels good and has me excited. I am little surprised by it, but at the same time I know I am pretty good at what I do on the field. The only other schools I'd kind of like to hear from are Florida St. and Georgia."
Minter claimed factors such as the depth chart, being able to compete for a starting spot during his freshman and sophomore seasons are a couple of things that will be included in his final decision.
These are just some of the topics he has already started discussing with a couple of people concerning a certain team.
"I talk to coach [Bradley Dale] Peveto a lot," Minter explained. "I really like coach Peveto. I also spoke to coach [Les] Miles last week. Both of them were basically just telling me how I'd fit in with their team and how they would like to see me become a LSU Tiger.
"I've been hearing a lot about LSU from my old teammate [Derrick Bryant] as well," Minter added. "He just committed to LSU, so he's been pushing them on me. I am going to try to make it to LSU's Jr. Day on February 23rd to check it out for myself."
Note: Minter currently has a 3.0 G.P.A and is taking the SAT on March 3rd.
