The big offensive lineman is no stranger to the LSU program and he hopes to make it back to Baton Rouge several more times over the next few months.
“This was my third time up there,” he said. “I visited way back in the fall and then I got to go see a practice a few weeks ago.”
Fontana said this visit was special as he got to see the defending national champions back in action and he also got to spend some time with the coaches.
“It was great just seeing how the team has progressed during the spring since I’ve seen them practice” he said. “I got a chance to see what they’re going to look like.
“I talked with Coach Lane and Coach Stud, and they said they’re still in the evaluating process. They’re coming down to talk to me further later, but they want me to come up to camp so they can get a look at me. They also said I would be playing center or guard if I did play at LSU.”
