Tigers in MLB
Mike Fontenot got the start at second base last night for the Cubs and he made the most of it by going 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. It was Fontenot’s first homer of the year and the Cubs defeated the Pirates 7-3.
Ryan Theriot also got the start for Chicago and went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
Former Tiger Brian Wilson earned his second save of the year for the Giants as San Francisco defeated St. Louis 5-1. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and didn’t allow a base runner while striking out one batter.
Aaron Hill went 0-for-5 at the plate last night and stranded four runners on base in Toronto’s 3-2 loss to Oakland.
While Hill had a rough outing, Brian Tallet pitched two perfect innings of relief where he didn’t allow a base runner and struck out four for the Blue Jays.
Tigers in the NBA
The NBA had a light schedule with only three games last night and Brandon Bass was the only former LSU player in action.
Bass scored 14 points and pulled down four rebounds in just over 16 minutes of action. He hit 4-of-6 from the field and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
