Farms plans to visit

Johnnie Farms, the nation's fifth best offensive guard, is taking his time with the recruiting process. The Perry (Ga.) product, who holds offers from all the top Southeastern Conference schools, is keeping Florida and Alabama, two schools he has visited recently, at the top of his list.

However, with a long road ahead, the 6-2, 280-pounder is not ruling out any of the schools from the running.

“I like all the SEC schools,” Farms said. “I want to check out whatever school that offers me there.”

In terms of Farms’ contact with LSU, he said that a conflict in scheduling kept him from a recent trip to Baton Rouge but another one is in the works.

“I was supposed to come down a few weeks ago, but things fell through,” he said. “I am still coming down sometime this summer.”

Farms knows a little about LSU but during his visit he hopes to learn more about the defending National Champions.

“I don’t know a whole lot about [LSU] yet,” Farms said. “I like their offensive line. When I get down I want to know more about what LSU has to offer. I also want to get a chance to know the coaching staff and players.”

This summer will be an exciting time for Farms as he plans to visit several other schools but one thing he isn't looking to do is rush his decision.

“I don’t really have any timeframe on when I will decide,” he said. “I just want to be able to check everyone out first and go from there.”
