LSU offers Lowe

The Tigers 2009 commitment list is not made up of the typical Louisiana-bred talent, but rather a nice blend of talent from across the South. The number of out-of-state recruits joining the class should increase even more as signing day draws near and one prospect that just received an offer is Brownwood (Texas) offensive guard Stavion Lowe (6-4, 295, 5.2).

“I called coach [Larry] Porter this morning and he told me that they were really excited after seeing me on film,” Lowe said. “He told me to hold on, and the next thing I knew I was on the phone with coach [Les] Miles. That’s when he gave me the offer.”

How did the four-star feel when the word came?

“It felt really good,” Lowe said. “To be honest, this is one of the offers that I have been really waiting on since the start.”

With offers from Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Texas A&M, to name a few, there is one glaring theme from Lowe’s process.

“I love the SEC,” he said. “That is where the best football is and I want to be a part of that.”
