Two offers for Johns

The summer camp circuit is in full effect for some of Louisiana's top prospects and one from Central High School recently saw the benefits of flashing his skills in person as Josh Johns picked up his second offer.

“I went up to ULM for a camp and they offered so now I have them and Louisiana Tech,” Josh Johns said.

The camp in Monroe will not be the talented safety’s last one as he has more on the horizon including one this weekend.

“I’m going to University of Houston this Sunday and then I’m going to LSU (July), and probably Southern Miss and Auburn,” said Johns, who picked off four passes and broke up 11 more as a junior.

Along with the two schools that have already extended an offer, Johns (6-2, 205, 4.5) says that he is getting interest from a few big-time programs and most of them want to get him to camp to get a full evaluation.

“LSU seems pretty interested and they said they just want to see me in space and covering and stuff,” Johns said. “Nebraska and Oklahoma are sending me stuff wanting me to come to camp too but I don’t know if I’m going to make it over there. Texas Tech also wants me to camp but I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it.”

As for the schools that already offered, Johns had this to say about the Bulldogs and Warhawks.

“I felt relieved to get my first one and I really like Louisiana Tech,” he said. “I’ve never been to campus but I like the town and I like the conference they play in.

“With ULM, my dad played there so I’m kind of familiar with them. I’ve been on their campus and I liked it a lot too.”
