Still, the three-star lineman earned his fare share of accolades, recording 71 tackles and 10 sacks en route to a first team all-district.
Now that he is back at 100 percent, Simon is looking for the offer list to begin growing.
“Everything is going good for me right now,” Simon said. “I am going down to Florida this coming weekend to check out Central Florida’s campus. They have been recruiting me the hardest so far, so I want to go see what they are all about.”
“I am camping with LSU at the end of July,” Simon said. “The coaches have been sending me a lot of letters, but no offer or anything yet. They said that they want to get me in camp and see my aggressiveness and all that, so I am just getting ready.”
When Simon says he is getting ready for that July camp it may be an understatement because he is putting a lot of training in to prepare for that showing.
“I’m going over there to show them what I can do,” he said. “They’re interested in me but they want to see me up close in certain situations and I plan on showing them that I can play at that level. LSU is one of the best programs in the country and if you can play there then you can play anywhere. I plan on showing them I am LSU material.”
While Simon waits to hear from the Tigers, he feels as if a healthy senior season should begin to turn some heads.
“We are going to have a solid team this season and I feel better than ever,” Simon said. “I feel like some more schools will definitely be checking me out.”
