Stagg is One to Watch in 2010

Having covered several of 2010's big names in Big 12 territory, the focus shifts to several local prospects. First up is defensive tackle Glenn Stagg of Mamou High School in central Louisiana.

Stagg (6-2, 264, 5.2) is focusing in on his junior season with just a few college trips. The D-lineman said he's been spending time at Southeastern and plans on attending LSU's July camp.

Stagg said the name of the game for his next two seasons is improvement.

"I really want to get faster," he said. "I'm only at 263 and I run a 5.2 so I definitely think I need to speed up. There are also a lot of techniques I've been working on at Southeastern." Stagg's interests so far revolve around the Louisiana region.

LSU is the big one," he said. "But I want to take a look at Texas A&M and I've been hearing things from McNeese State."

Several of Stagg's graduating teammates from Mamou High School opted for McNeese State. Mamou was eliminated from 2007's 2A state playoffs by who else but John Curtis.

"Obviously a big goal for next season is to make it farther," Stagg said. "We're hoping for just a few more wins than last year."
