Headed home from LSU

As the Seminole High trio sat in the airport waiting for their plane to take them back to Sanford, Florida, there was just one thing on the groups' mind: getting back to Baton Rouge.

“We had an awesome time,” said Andre Debose (5-11, 176, 4.4), the nation’s No. 5 wide receiver prospect. “We are all definitely coming back for an official visit in the fall.”

From dinner at the Stadium Club to a tour of every corner of the LSU campus, the five-star said that the trip really opened their eyes to the Tiger program.

“We now know what LSU is all about, and we like what we see,” Debose said. “Meeting [head] coach [Les] Miles was really special. I don’t get awestruck or anything like that, but seeing him face to face got me feeling that way.”

Another face that Debose was happy to see was that of tiger-commit Russell Shepard, culminating in the group leaving Baton Rouge with a much closer bond than they came in with.

“Russell is an unbelievable dude,” Debose said. “I would definitely want to play on the same field as him. He’s not just a great athlete; he is just a really cool guy.”

Debose said that the trip has helped solidify the Tigers as frontrunners for his service.

“LSU is definitely in my top three,” Debose said. “I’m not saying where everyone stands, but LSU is really up there for me right now.”

When asked if he is leaving Baton Rouge with a better feel for LSU than he arrived with, the Sanford-native was quick with a response.

“Most definitely,” Debose said. “This was an amazing weekend.”
