Green up in the air about LSU visit

LSU coaches are expecting some of the nation's finest players in for official and unofficial visits for the Ole Miss game, but it remains to be seen whether or not cornerback Chad Green (6-0, 175, 4.5) of Birmingham-Van Nuys, Calif. will actually make it in.

"The way the playoffs work is if we win today (Thursday) then we play on Wednesday of next week," Green said. "If that happens then we will have a short week, so we will practice on Saturday. But I am scheduled to go to LSU this weekend."
Green has already taken one of his five official visits with that one going to Oregon State. Since then, Green has crossed the Beavers off his short list. The schools that remain in contention for his services are LSU, Washington, Oregon and Arizona State. Some wonder how the Tigers managed to make it this far considering the proximity to Green's other finalists.
"Right now, I really do not have a favorite," Green said. "I am just kind of looking at them all and getting information about everything and just taking it in."
If he can't make it to Baton Rouge for the Ole Miss game, Tiger fans should not worry because he plans on making an official trip to bayou country before signing day.
"He definitely wants to go there for a visit," said his mother, Kay Green. "He talked to the coach at LSU on Wednesday but everything is just up in the air right now."
Sonny's View: I could definitely sense something positive in Chad's voice when he spoke about LSU. I think this could be another case of a high-profile player realizing the attention he will get at a place where college football is put on a pedestal.
