A return trip for Espinosa

College coaches can never have enough offensive linemen and LSU has targeted one of the top centers in Texas for 2010 in Leander (Texas) Cedar Park product Dominic Espinosa.

The big 6-3, 275-pounder received an early offer from the Tigers and on Saturday he was in Baton Rouge to take in LSU's Junior Day festivities.

“It was a lot of fun,” said Espinosa, who also holds offers from Texas A&M, Houston and Baylor. “I got to see all of the facilities, both academic and athletic. Everything was real nice and this time I got to talk to the coaches more and get a better feel for how they really were.”

Among the coaches that Espinosa spent time with was LSU offensive line coach Greg Studwara.

“I got to spend some time with coach Studwara and we went over a lot of stuff,” Espinosa said. “He’s pretty up front and I like that because you know what you’re getting. He seems like a hard worker and I’ve heard that he makes his players work hard which is a good thing.”

Espinosa plans to make a return trip down the road and when he travels back to Louisiana’s Capitol City he will be looking forward to spending some time with the headman himself.

“Coach Miles was running all over the place so I didn’t get to talk to him one on one, but we heard him speak to us in our groups,” said Espinosa. “I’ve heard that he is a real down to earth guy and he seemed that way just from watching him interact with everybody. When I do come back I want to spend some time with him and get to know him better.”

Espinosa was unsure of when that return trip would be but there’s a good chance he will be back over the summer for camp.

“The coaches said they like to spend time with the players to work with him and that is when you can really get a good feel for how they coach, and they can get a good feel for you,” he said. “I saw most of the facilities and got a lot of things out of the way, but I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and learning more about the school and coaches, and also the players.”
