The annual NFL Scouting Combine is the annual job fair for prospective new NFL players. For six days at Lucas Oil Stadium, players are put through a series of drills, tests and interviews with more than 600 NFL personnel including head coaches, general managers and scouts.
Other Tigers headed to the NFL Combine include: center Brett Helms, wide receiver Demetrius Byrd, linebacker Darry Beckwith, safety Curtis Taylor and defensive tackles Marlon Favorite and Ricky Jean-Francois.
Mike Mayock of the NFL.com has Jackson rated as the No. 1 defensive end prospect in the draft, followed by Quinn Johnson as the No. 2 rated fullback, Beckwith the No. 3 ranked inside linebacker and Herman Johnson the No. 5 rated offensive guard.
The NFL Draft will be held April 25-26 in New York City. LSU has had at least one player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft for five straight years. Last year, Glenn Dorsey was the fifth overall pick in the draft and he was one of seven Tigers taken in the NFL Draft.
Since Les Miles’ arrival in 2005, LSU has had a total of 19 players selected in the NFL Draft, including six first round picks.
