TSD Television: Houston Bates

Houston Bates made a name for himself as a junior at Covington-St. Paul's for the terror he caused to opposing offenses from his defensive end spot. Not including two playoff games, he finished the regular season with 63 tackles (34 solos and 29 assists), including 10 for loss and 14 sacks.

Bates, a six-foot-three, 250-pounder with reported 4.7 speed, has a motor that never stops and a quick first step that makes him very tough to block. He’s already getting strong interest from LSU and several other schools, but he will have plenty of more options before all is said and done.

Here is more than nine minutes of video of Bates in action from his junior campaign where he shows why he will be one of Louisiana’s top defensive ends for the 2010 class.
