LSU is after Pruitt

Houston Pruitt has been a longtime LSU fan. So, when the Tigers showed interest in the Louisiana-native's recruitment process, the five-foot-eleven, 178 pound safety was all ears.

Born in Monroe, Houston Pruitt and his family moved to southern Arkansas early during in his child years.

Though the state changed, his passion for LSU football faded little.

"My father and I have always been LSU fans, so it is pretty special for them to be involved with my recruitment," Pruitt said. "In fact, my dad was asked to walk on at LSU while he was in college, but he ended up playing some D-II ball. Regardless, LSU has always been special to us."

The interest, it seems, is a two-way street.

"LSU is sending a lot of stuff, actually," Pruitt said. "I went down for Junior Day and met the staff last month, and it was sweet. I am definitely high on LSU, and so far that is the place to be.

"They showed us everything from the weight room to the academic center, and we met with coach Miles as well. My dad and I really liked what we saw."

As for other schools in the mix, Pruitt said that the Southeastern Conference interest remains high.

"Vanderbilt has been one of the hottest teams on me, and the Ole Miss staff wants me to come down and check things out soon," he said. "I am going to Arkansas this weekend, also.

"I am going to get to some camps this summer, so I will know more about my process then. I will definitely make it to LSU. I also might go to Oklahoma State and Vanderbilt's camps. I am balancing things with baseball, so it has been brutal to say the least," added Pruitt with a laugh.

Pruitt holds an offer from Tulsa.
