Linder's still looking at LSU

At 6-foot-6, 285-pounds Brandon Linder has the body that college coaches are looking for in an offensive lineman. Add to the mix the junior's near flawless technique and he becomes one of the nation's most coveted prospects.

For Brandon Linder, three offers have stood out from the rest throughout his recruitment.

Miami, Florida and Notre Dame are my top schools,” he said. “I have offers from them and they have all been really high on me for a while, so it just kind of fell into place.”

Of course, with nearly every college coach in the country dropping letters in the mailbag at St. Thomas Aquinas High, the chance of his list adding a school or two increases with the passing of each week.

“I have about 18 offers now,” Linder said. “So, I am still looking at all of my options. I have not really gotten a chance to get to any spring games or junior days, so things are still taking shape in my process.

“I went on a visit earlier this year to Miami, and I think I might try to make it to the Florida Spring Game next weekend. But that is really all that I have gotten to see, so my visits should help a lot.”

One staff that hopes to get into the mix is LSU, and the 4-star center said that the ball is already rolling in that regard.

“LSU offered me a while back, and I am definitely looking forward to hearing what the staff has to say if I come over on a visit,” Linder said. “I have not talked on the phone with them recently, but they have been sending me a lot of letters in the mail.”

Though the home-state Gators recently picked up their second National Championship of the decade, it was the Bayou Bengals that were first to the feat, a milestone that Linder said he would love to be a part of setting.

“LSU has a great program, and I know about all of the success over the past few years,” he said. “The only thing is, I don’t know so much about the school because I don’t know anyone that goes there.

“I am interested in finding out more though, so when it is time to look at camps and official visits I will talk with my father and see if Baton Rouge is a place that I would like to take in.”

Linder, a 4-star and Scout-100 prospect, holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame and Tennessee, among others.
