Ingram picks the Tigers

LSU fans have been anxious the past few weeks wondering when Nick Saban would pick up a commitment from a linebacker.

Well, Tiger fans can rest easy tonight because Saban filled a huge need on defense with the commitment of Darius Ingram (6-3, 220, 4.5) of Tenaha, Texas.

"A lot of stuff is similar to my high school and I just felt comfortable there," Ingram told Tiger Rag. "All young athletes want to come in and play early and I feel like I have the best chance at LSU."

His visit to Baton Rouge on the first weekend of December cemented in his head what he thought he already knew about the program.

"On my visit I got to sit down with the coaches and some teachers in the Business school and the things they have to offer will benefit me as a person and a player," Ingram said. "LSU has a lot to offer me."

Ingram said he will take his remaining visits over the next few weeks just to be on the safe side but he feels like LSU is the best fit.

"I plan to go to SMU this week and hopefully after that to Texas Tech or Houston," he said. "I just want to make sure LSU is the place for me. With this recruiting thing, you just never know."

Is he firm in his commitment?

"I am firm," Ingram said.

He said he chose the Tigers over Arkansas and TCU.
