Two visits left for Pittman

The month of January is a busy time for college prospects as they prepare to make a decision that could affect them for the rest of their life.

One of Louisiana's most coveted recruits will take this weekend off from traveling to colleges across the country as he prepares to celebrate his 18th birthday.

East St. John-Reserve (La.) defensive end Kirston Pittman (6-5, 235, 4.5) is one of the most athletic players in the country for someone his size and he is looking forward to spending some quality time at home with his family and friends as he celebrates turning a year older.

"This weekend is my birthday so I'll be at home," Pittman told Tiger Rag. "I'll probably go out with my girl and then come home and hang with my brother. It's not often we get to hang out because he is always out of town so it will be good."

Last weekend Pittman took his official visit to Florida State and left overly impressed with the state of the Seminoles' program and the surroundings of Tallahassee.

"It was great," Pittman said. "I enjoyed myself a whole lot. The campus was great and they have some great guys and great players. They have a great coaching staff too. I can see myself getting to play early there."

The visit to the Sunshine State was Pittman's third official visit and he still has trips set up for Miami (1/24) and LSU (1/31) before he reaches his decision. Has anyone taken the lead for his signature?

"No, I am still wide open," Pittman said. "No one has come up to the forefront."
