Scott back from Baton Rouge

DeMarcus Scott of Greenville (Miss.) was in Baton Rouge for his official visit this past weekend.

The 6-1, 240-pound linebacker has been leaning to the Tigers for months now but did anything change over the weekend?

"LSU led going into this weekend but this just boosted them up," Scott told Tiger Rag. "It was a nice visit. I rated it a 10."

He was already familiar with the Tiger coaching staff but the players made a lasting impression on him that will stick with him for a while.

"The whole campus was impressive and the players got along great," said Scott. "I feel like I know some of them from somewhere because I fit in so well with them. I may be a little shorter than most of them but every thing else was alright," he said with a laugh.

He did not verbally commit on his visit but it could only be a matter of time before Scott gives Nick Saban a verbal pledge. "Coach Saban said to keep taking my visits to be sure but he definitely made me feel like he wanted me," Scott said. "He said they would hold a scholarship for me but if I signed with them and then left that could hurt the program."

What is next for the Magnolia State middle linebacker?

"I'm going to Tennessee next weekend and maybe Marshall after that," he said.
