Another commitment on the horizon

LSU could have its commitment list up to 21 by 2 p.m. on Friday if a certain coach does not step up to the plate.

Greenville (Miss.) linebacker DeMarcus Scott (6-1, 240, 4.7) was supposed to make an official visit this weekend but as of late Thursday evening he said those plans are up in the air.

"I was supposed to go to Tennessee this weekend but I haven't heard anything from coach (Steve) Caldwell since Sunday," Scott told Tiger Rag. "If I don't talk to him by in the morning then I'm not going there."

LSU linebackers coach Kirk Doll will visit Greenville High School Friday at 2 p.m. and there is a good chance he could leave with a pledge from a longtime Tiger fan.

"I might have to cancel that last visit and just go ahead and commit to LSU," said Scott. "Coach Doll is coming by the school tomorrow afternoon so I'll by know then whether or not I'm going this weekend. If they don't call then that's cool. LSU has always been my leader. Everything works out in the end."

Sonny's View: Even if Scott does go to Tennessee he is still a virtual lock to commit to the Tigers. If the scholarship offer is unconditional then he should be a Tiger commitment shortly after Doll gets to his high school.
