A new name you can add to LSU’s 2011 offer list comes from in the Tigers’ own backyard as Capitol Academy standout Corey White has been officially offered.
“LSU called Thursday and said they were offering then they sent the letter over,” said Baton Rouge-Capitol head coach Chadwick Germany.
White, a big 6-foot-4, 310-pounder, has attended LSU’s camp the last three summers and that has given the coaches plenty of opportunities to evaluate the big man in person.
“They said they liked his size and good footwork,” said Germany. “He’s played AAU basketball since he was 8 (years old) so that’s helped him a lot with his footwork. LSU said they liked him a lot and he was one of their top priorities for next year.”
Germany says that there aren’t many schools that know of White yet since he’s only a junior, but he expects that to change soon.
In fact, he expects the school that his star quarterback – Terrance Broadway – has committed to will be joining the party soon.
“Houston is going to probably pull the plug soon but a lot of other people don’t really know about him,” said Germany. “He’s going to get a bunch more offers, though, before it’s over with.”
