LSU-Kansas series postponed until Sunday

The baseball game scheduled for Saturday between the Kansas Jayhawks and the LSU Fighting Tigers at Alex Box Stadium was postponed by rain.

With heavy rain moving into the Baton Rouge area and a forecast for the rain to continue through the evening and into the overnight hours, LSU game management officials elected to postpone the game at 1:30 p.m.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning Sunday morning at 10 a.m. Both games will be nine innings, and there will be 20 minutes between games to clear the stadium.

Fans will need their ticket for Saturday's game to get into the first game on Sunday, and Sunday's ticket will be good for admission to Sunday's second game.

No new inning will begin after 3:45 p.m. on Sunday to allow Kansas to make its 6:30 p.m. flight out of Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.

Kansas (7-3) won the series opener on Friday night, 9-6 in 10 innings, handing LSU (4-1; No. 6 Collegiate Baseball, No. 7 ESPN/USA Today, No. 8 Baseball America) its first loss of the season.
