News and Notes on the Tigers

LSU goes into Wednesday's matchup against Auburn looking to break a three-game losing skid. Both sets of Tigers are winless in conference play and both are looking to climb out of the cellar in the Western Division.

GETTING INSIDE

LSU, which rolled to the overall SEC championship last season, is finding wins hard to come by this time around.

In fact, the Tigers are winless in conference play following their 72-58 loss at Florida.

Down by seven points at halftime, the Tigers saw their deficit double less than four minutes into the second half. The Gators continued on for a 20-3 run and a 57-34 lead with a little less than 14 minutes left.

"It was really disappointing when they came out and put that run on us in the second half," senior Tasmin Mitchell said after his team fell to 0-3 in the Western Division. "All that hard work we did in the first half didn't pay off in the second half. We just didn't play 40 minutes of basketball."

The Tigers have lost six of their last seven games.

"It's just very frustrating," Mitchell said. "I don't know what the problem is, to be honest with you."

At least the Tigers will have a chance to regroup a bit with two home games coming up against Auburn and Ole Miss. The problem is they lost their last outing at home by 17 points to Alabama.

NOTES, QUOTES
