Williams Commits

The final weekend of the recruiting season brought a surprise visitor to the LSU campus in Arkansas commit Armand Williams. Williams made the trip to Baton Rouge as a Hog but he will head back to Slidell, La. as a Tiger.

"I de-committed from Arkansas and committed to Coach Miles," Williams confirmed with TigerSportsDigest.com on Saturday evening. "It's always been a dream to play at LSU and when Coach Miles gave me the opportunity to commit I had to take it."

Williams (6-3, 189, 4.5) has been a three-year starter at Slidell and is coming off a senior season where he caught 48 passes for 628 yards and eight touchdowns. That was an improvement from the 32 catches for 638 yards and eight scores from his junior season.

Williams, who was also committed to Northern Illinois prior to switching to Arkansas and claimed offers from Tulsa, Memphis, UL-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech and others, is known for being an exceptional athlete as he sports a 41" vertical and won the Class 5A High Jump title in 2008 with a leap of 6 feet, 8 inches.

TigerSportsDigest.com will have more on LSU's 25th commitment overall and second wide receiver pledge for 2010 when Williams' official visit wraps up on Sunday.
