Gymnastics travels to Nebraska

The 14th-ranked LSU gymnastics team returns to action Sunday when it travels to Lincoln, Neb., for the Masters Classic.

The quad-meet will be held at Bob Devaney Sports Center and will feature some of the nation's top talent as No. 5 Nebraska, No. 12 Washington and No. 18 Kent State are all scheduled to compete. Action is set to begin at 2 p.m.

LSU, 6-3 on the season and 1-3 in the SEC, looks to rebound after a disappointing 197.400-193.800 loss to Alabama last week. The Tigers will
likely be without the services of freshman April Burkholder for the second
straight week as the outstanding all-arounder is recovering from a sprained
ankle suffered during last week's practice.

The Tigers will look to a few different athletes to fill in for Burkholder
as senior Brooke Cazeaux will likely step in on the bars and beam and
freshman Terin Martinjak will return to the vault and floor lineups.

Following LSU's trip to Lincoln, the Tigers will return to Baton Rouge to
host their final two home meets of the regular season. First-year team,
Arkansas, will make its inaugural trip to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center
Friday, Feb. 28, while No. 4 Georgia will close out the Tigers' 2003 home
schedule Friday, March 7.
