Rain shortens LSU-Houston series to two games

Friday's LSU-Houston baseball game has been cancelled due to heavy rain in the Baton Rouge area that has left the Alex Box Stadium field in an unplayable condition.

The scheduled three-game series between the teams has now been reduced to two games. The teams will meet in single, nine-inning games at 3 p.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday in Alex Box Stadium.

Fans should use their Game No. 9 tickets for admission to Saturday's 3 p.m. game and their Game No. 10 tickets for admission to Sunday's 1 p.m. game.

The void in the LSU schedule left by Friday's cancellation will be filled with a game against Southeastern Louisiana on Wednesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. in Alex Box Stadium.

Fans should hold their Game No. 8 tickets and use them for admission to the April 23 make-up game versus Southeastern Louisiana.

Tickets may be purchased for both games of the LSU-Houston series by calling the LSU athletic ticket office at 225.578.2184 or 800.960.8587, or by visiting www.LSUsports.net.

LSU (5-3) enters Saturday's game ranked No. 12 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 14 by Baseball America. Houston (2-5) is No. 20 in both of the magazine polls.
