Martin Commits to LSU

LSU had been sitting on 11 commitments since the end of May but that number rose to a dandy dozen on Tuesday when White Castle safety Ronald Martin gave the Tigers his pledge.

White Castle (La.) safety Ronald Martin attended LSU's July Camp with one main thing on his mind and that was to earn an offer from the Tigers.

After two days of impressing the LSU coaches with his athleticism and ball skills, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Martin fulfilled his mission.

"When they offered I knew it was over and I was a Tiger," said Martin.

Martin got the word shortly after he finished camp on Tuesday and upon checking out to return to home. That was when he was summonsed to Miles' office and received the good news.

As a junior, Martin racked up over 2,500 yards of total offense (1,400 passing and 1,100 rushing) and 20 total touchdowns from his quarterback position, and added 58 tackles to go with his nine interceptions and 15 more passes defended from his safety spot.

TigerSportsDigest.com will have more on Martin's decision shortly.
