The three names that Tiger fans followed closest over the summer months all came across the wire in the 11th hour, but they arrived – as will the signees in limbo – before the opener of the team’s fall camp on Thursday.
At the end of last week good news from the NCAA Clearinghouse arrived for two names: punter Brad Wing and defensive lineman J.R. “Ego” Ferguson.
Ferguson, who spent the summer months at his family’s home in Frederick, Md. while he retook the ACT, earned the score needed earlier this month. The Australian-born Wing, who played his senior season at nearby Parkview Baptist, ran into trouble when the NCAA raised questions about core subjects transferring over from his studies in Australia. The Clearinghouse didn’t officially clear him until last Friday.
On Monday afternoon, TigerSportsDigest.com learned that the third name in the group – Miami running back Jakhari Gore – has been cleared and will report to campus this week.
Gore’s arrival means that LSU will report to fall camp with their full 28-man signing class. Stick with TigerSportsDigest.com for more on the incoming freshmen through this week’s fall camp coverage.
