Juan Anderson Granted Release From Marquette
California Native Looking To Move Closer To Home
Milwaukee – Sophomore Juan Anderson of the Marquette University men's basketball program has been granted his release from the team and will transfer after the conclusion of the semester.
"I really enjoyed my time here and learned a lot that will be beneficial to my life after basketball," Anderson said. "My family is very important to me and moving closer to them is something I need to do at this time."
The 6-6, 210-pounder appeared in 59 career games for the Golden Eagles, earning 31 starting assignments. He played in all 35 games during MU's 2012-13 run to the Elite Eight and started all but four of the contests.
"We are incredibly grateful for all that Juan has done here on and off the floor during his tenure," head coach Buzz Williams announced. "Because of family reasons, he feels like it is important to get back closer to home in order to help support his family. We wish him all the best, and will cheer for him from Milwaukee."
