Marquette Madness set for October 14 at 7 p.m

Marquette Madness is just days away. The highly anticipated annual tip-off to the college basketball season for Golden Eagles fans will be held on Friday, October 14 at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette Madness is just days away. The highly anticipated annual tip-off to the college basketball season for Golden Eagles fans will be held on Friday, October 14 at the Al McGuire Center.

Doors for the free event open at 7 p.m. with start time scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m.

Due to the easing of an NCAA regulation, the teams no longer have to wait until midnight to begin their first practice.

Fans are invited to join head coach Tom Crean as Marquette opens the season with a night of special performances, celebrity appearances, giveaways and basketball. "Voice of the Golden Eagles" Steve "The Homer" True will serve as emcee.

The evening begins with performances by U2 tribute band, Milwaukee's own, U2Zoo, along with the Marquette University band, cheer and dance programs. Following introductions, the team will stage dunk and two-ball shooting competitions and conclude with a scrimmage.

Marquette Madness t-shirts and team posters will be provided to all those in attendance. The event is presented by FreedomRoads.
