Hilliard Impressive In First Run At ABCD Camp

Idris Hilliard continues to see his recruiting intensify over the past month. Hilliard is currently playing against some of the top players from across the country at the Reebok sponsored ABCD camp being held in Teaneck, New Jersey ...

The summer is a time for college coaches to evaluate the top talent. But it's also a time to make important decisions on whether some other players have the potential to help their programs without having a big reputation or name. Such is the case for Idris Hilliard, a 6-foot-6 forward from the Hun School in Princeton, N.J. Hilliard has been written about quite a bit on the Scout.com High School New York/New Jersey site over the past year. He's a player that could have his recruiting list pick up even more if he handles the tough competition over the next few weeks.

Idris is currently competing at the Reebok sponsored ABCD camp on the campus of FDU. So far, in the first day of play, Hilliard has held his own. He is averaging nine points and three rebounds. Each player is allowed 16 minutes of playing time. So essentially, Hilliard performed his task in half the normal time of play.

"It's a challenge," Hilliard said after his first game yesterday afternoon. "The players are very good. But it's a time for me to try and improve my game too."

Idris has already taken recent visits to Wake Forest and DePaul (as reported by the Scout.com DePaul site). There are other schools too interested in Hilliard. Among them: Providence, Seton Hall, St. John's, Marquette, and Rutgers.

Coaches from Providence, St. John's, and Rutgers were spotted at one of his games. (This doesn't mean that the other schools weren't there either).
