As the hot summer action cools down, the recruiting process heats up. MarquetteHoops.com has been following the recruitment of 6'9 big man Jerai Grant from DeMatha high school in Baltimore, MD all summer, and today MarquetteHoops.com was able to track him down for an update....

MarquetteHoops.com: A month ago you had mentioned that you might end your recruitment sooner than later, do you have a time frame yet?

Jerai Grant: Now that I have waited this long, I am definately going to wait just a little bit longer because I want to take some official visits. I want to see the schools that I haven't seen and see the ones that I have been to one more time to make sure I know where I want to go. I think the official visit is an improtant piece of the recruitment process.

MarquetteHoops.com: Have you narrowed down your list of schools yet?

Jerai Grant: Well, for now it is Notre Dame, Marquette, Clemson, DePaul, Virginia, Virginia Tech and NC State. But that might go up a little. I hear from more and more schools every day, and I am going to go back home and sit down and go over the list of new contacts and make sure that my list is where I want it to be.

MarquetteHoops.com: Do you have any favorites?

Jerai Grant: Marquette, Notre Dame and Clemson are definately three of the official visits that I will take. I don't know where else I will go, but I am definately going to visit those three.

MarquetteHoops.com: You can't take those visits until after you have been in school, so when do you start school?

Jerai Grant: We start the first week of September, so probably not long after that.

MarquetteHoops.com: How did the summer go?

Jerai Grant: Our AAU team (Maryland Madness) did very well, and our high school team just won the Pro City League Championship, so I think the summer went very well. I also got a chance to participate in the NBA Camp and that was a great experience. It really showed me how good the talent ios out there, and how I compare to the top level of players.

MarquetteHoops.com: Overall, how do you feel the recruiting process has gone for you?

Jerai Grant: With where we went and how we played this summer, I could not have asked for more exposure. This is the most exposure I have ever had, so I have been very happy with it.

MarquetteHoops.com: Good luck the rest of the way.

Jerai Grant: Thanks, I'll talk to you later.
