MILWAUKEE, January 22 - Sophomore guard Dominic James was named BIG EAST Men¹s Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week as announced by the conference office, Monday.
James averaged 20.5 points and 5.0 assists per game, while shooting 50.0 percent (8-for-16) from the three point line, in helping lead No. 24 Marquette to two victories on the road. On Jan. 15 at Louisville, he scored 18 points, going 6-for-14 from the field, including 4-for-7 from beyond the ark, and had five assists in a 74-65 win. In a 77-74 victory at No. 6 Pittsburgh, Jan. 21, James tallied 23 points, his second most in a game this season, added five assists and was 7-for-8 from the free throw line.
In the Golden Eagles current four-game winning streak, James is averaging 19.8 points, 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game. The 5-11 guard is also shooting 46.2 percent (12-26) from three point range.
Marquette is back in action, Wednesday at 7 p.m., when it hosts Seton Hall at the Bradley Center.
