Slowed by the flu, MU's Sophomore guards could not hit from the outside and could not stop Georgetown's 19-2 run late in the second half. MU was lead by Ousmane Barro's double double[14 pts/13 rebs] and freshman forward Lazar Hayward who had a breakout game with 14 points.
MU loses to Georgetown, 76-58
Marquette lost its battles with the flu and with Georgetown as the #22 rated Hoyas beat the #11 Golden Eagles, 76-58, at the Verizon Center on Saturday. Marquette could not stop Georgetown big men including forward Jeff Green[24 points] and 7-3 Center Roy Hibbert [23 points]. The loss snapped the Golden Eagles [21-5, 8-3] 8 game conference winning streak and left them in a tough fight for one of the 4 Big East Tournament first round byes with Pitt, Georgetown, West Virginia and Louisville.
