MU Comes Back, then Holds on for 82-79 Win

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Led by Senior Lazar Hayward's best game of his Marquette career, Marquette came back and then held on to beat Providence 82-79 on the road Saturday. Hayward did it all scoring 28 points, grabbed nine rebounds, had 4 steals, 4 assists, some big FTs and a monster block for the Golden Eagles (15-8, 6-5 Big East).

An elated Buzz Williams said, "We won because of our character. I am unbelievably proud of these guys. We are outmanned but we fight on every possession. It is great to be around people like this."
