The Marquette Golden Eagles will look to move one step closer towards an NCAA bid, when they close out a three-game road trip at Seton Hall.
The Golden Eagles (18-9, 9-6) can achieve their fifth consecutive season with double digit BIG EAST wins with a victory over the Pirates (16-10, 7-8) on Sunday.
That task, however, will not be easy.
The Pirates feature the second leading scorer in the BIG EAST, Jeremy Hazell. The 6-5 junior guard can fill it up from downtown as he leads the BIG EAST in three-pointers made.
In addition to Hazell, the Pirates three guard attack features Eugene Harvey and Jordan Theodore. Both players are extremely quick and do a good job at getting in the lane.
Seton Hall also features a solid inside presence in Herb Pope. Pope, who averages 11 points and 11 rebounds-per-game, leads the BIG EAST in rebounding.
He is joined in the frontcourt by Memphis transfer Jeff Robinson. Since joining the team in the second semester, Robinson has been very efficient, shooting 53 percent from the field.
Bench play for the Seton Hall has been extremely solid this season and makes them an especially tough matchup for the Golden Eagles. Robert Mitchell, who started and averaged 15 points-per-game last year, has moved into a sixth man role since the addition of Robinson. 10 different Pirates have started a game this season.
Seton Hall will likely try and push the tempo against Marquette. Despite playing a fast pace, Seton Hall is one of the best teams at protecting the basketball. It will be interesting to see if they decide to stick to being a jump shooting team or if they try and pound it inside against Marquette.
