Mbao Leaving Men's Basketball Program

Milwaukee – Freshman center Youssoupha Mbao of the Marquette University men's basketball team has announced that he will leave the team and continue his collegiate career at another institution.

"We want to thank ‘Yous' for his contributions to the program last season and wish him the best of luck in the future," head coach Buzz Williams said. "We are disappointed that he has decided to continue his playing career elsewhere, but will support him through the transition process."

Mbao appeared in 10 games off the bench in his lone season with the Golden Eagles, averaging 0.1 points and 0.7 rebounds in an average of six minutes per contest. The Dakar, Senegal, native missed a majority of the campaign with knee and ankle injuries and made his final appearance of the year against Providence (Jan. 17).
