Brito's Bomb Gives Herd Win

Aaron Blair gave the Herd 6 good innings, allowing only four runs, he left the game tied in the seventh. Josh King proceeded to come in and get the next six outs via the strikeout.

Then, in the top of the ninth inning, Issac Ballou led off with a single. Grey Stafford bunted him to second. Nathan Gomez received a free pass.

Alfredo Brito then walked up to the plate. Ballou was wreaking havoc on the batter of the Blazers. Finally, Brito got a pitch he liked and lofted it out over the right field fence for a three run jack.

Senior closer Jessie Fernandez then came in and retired the Blazers for his third save of the season.

Marshall wins the game 7 to 4.

The Herd plays the Blazers again tomorrow in Birmingham, at 3pm, available on Herdzone.com's All Access.

Marshall starts off CUSA play with a 1 - 0 record. With the wicked stretch that Marshall has mid season, they must win as many of the first six CUSA games as they can, as they face UAB, then Memphis.
