Herd Haven Chalkboard

The culmination of an up and down offseason comes to an end Saturday afternoon at Joan C. Edwards Stadium as the Marshall Thundering Herd play in the annual Green and White game. The young squad has had a very focused spring that has seen both the offense and the defense step up and produce on any given day.

The weekend begins today as the team completes practice number 14 of 15 at 3pm. I will have a full update this evening. Following practice, the coaching staff will scurry over to Annual Big Green Dinner which will feature many returning for Marshall players who are now in the NFL. Those players include Chris Crocker, Ahmad Bradshaw, Albert McClellan and Lee Smith among others.

Joining the team this weekend for many of the game day events will be a plethora of potential 2013 recruits. The class will be small this season, as only nine seniors will exhaust their eligibility. One would think that Doc Holliday and staff will set out to get the best of the best with the limited numbers. There has been some attrition from this past season for various reasons, so the class will not be limited to only nine players, however, it could be a smaller than usual class. This was thought to be the case last year however, before Holliday delivered a fully stocked, talent loaded class.

Included below is some information on some of the recruits visiting this weekend. I am unsure which ones are here on official visits, and which ones are here on unofficial visits, I would assume most, if not all, are unofficial.

Welcome to the first ever edition of the Herd Haven Chalkboard. The chalkboard will not always be about recruiting, or recruiting visits, however, today it will be. With the Green and White game set to kick off at 2pm on Saturday, one would expect there to be quite a few recruits on campus for the game. That is the case this weekend as well over 60 prospects arrive in town.

The bulk of the group will be arriving from local areas such as Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia. Below is a list of some of those guys arriving this weekend.

Some of the more potentially higher touted recruits are listed below:
