Florida Linebacker Getting Attention

The 2013 college football season will get underway with the Marshall Thundering Herd having primarily two middle linebackers. Billy Mitchell will be a senior, and Jermaine Holmes will be a junior. Needless to say, another body will be much needed at that time. One would expect, that prospect will be included in the 2013 recruiting class.

One such player received an offer from Marshall, and he would have to rank high on the Herd's wish list based solely on his credentials.

Keith Kelsey is a middle linebacker from Gainesville High School, in Gainesville Florida. Kelsey stands in at 6'2, 215 pounds and runs a 4.60, forty. As recently as late last month, Kelsey garnered a prestigious accomplishment. In the Nike camp in which he attended, he ended the camp ranked as one of the top five linebackers in the entire camp. Kelsey has picked up multiple offers along the way. At the time of the interview, Kelsey had five total offers, with USF, UCF, and Louisville being just a few of them.

Marshall has now entered the mix and has offered Kelsey. Kelsey says that he received the offer from the Herd, "about a month or so ago." He said that his lead recruiter is Coach Todd Hartley. As expected, Kelsey expects to line up at linebacker at the next level.

At this time, Kelsey is unsure if or when he will make a visit to the Huntington, WV campus. He also has no favorites at this time.

Kelsey is very excited to see how the recruiting process plays out. He said that, "it felt good to get that first offer out of the way. Then I realized after that first one that more would come, so it has become exciting."
