Herd Looking at Sunshine State Linebacker

There are very few seniors on the 2012 Marshall football team. That means there are very few departing starters from the 2012 Marshall football team. One of the positions that is currently being manned by a senior starter is Outside Linebacker. Devin Arrington should be one of the starting outside linebackers this season after having spent last season at safety.

So, who will replace him next season?

Currently on the roster are potential replacements such as redshirt freshman Armonze Daniel, and sophomore Deon Meadows. Incoming freshman Deyonte Henderson and Devon Johnson should also lend some depth.

Marshall is currently recruiting highly regarded outside linebacker Freddie Stevenson. Stevenson is from Bartow Senior High School in Bartow, Florida.

Stevenson is getting offers from all over the country. About a month ago, Stevenson received an offer from the Herd. His lead recruiter from Marshall is Todd Hartley.

Stevenson expects to most likely play outside linebacker at the next level, however, he lists "the ability to be plugged in at multiple spots on the defense and still make plays," as one of the strongest parts of his game.

Currently Stevenson is not sure of which schools he is going to visit. He has offers from multiple schools including UCF, USF, Marshall, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Texas A&M, Houston, Penn State and Western Kentucky.

Stevenson has his favorites listed as Texas A&M, Western Kentucky, UCF and USF.
