Marshall Snags Two BCS Tranfers

Marshall's coaching appears to have continued to make the Herd that much better this past weekend with two new additions. The Herd, always looking for the best talent in the land to fit into their depth chart received two transfers from Penn State University. Both transfers left the program prior to the recent sanctions which were handed down by the NCAA.

The Herd added slot receiver Devon Smith. Smith is known for his speed. He has put up unofficial 40 yard dash times in under 4.3 seconds, and has ran a 100 meter race in 10.4 seconds. He caught 25 balls for a little over 400 yards and two touchdowns last season.

Smith should slide in either in front of or with Andre Booker, possibly even moving Booker to the outside to assist Antavious Wilson. One thing is for sure, with Smith, Booker, Jermaine Kelson and Tommy Shuler, there is a plethora of slot receiver talent.

The other transfer is defensive back, Derrick Thomas. Thomas is 6'0", 180 pounds. He appeared in ten games last season for Penn State. He will be a redshirt Junior this season with two seasons to play.

Eligibility is still something that needs to be determined.
