Attaway Headed to Huntington

According to sources Marshall has secured a transfer from the 2012 recruiting class from Florida International University. The transfer is the second such defensive lineman in the past week. By leaving their previous schools, they will both have to set out a year before they can join the football program.

Last week, former Clemson signee Josh Brown, a large defensive tackle, left and headed to Marshall, today it is FIU commit Byran Attaway.

Attaway was a three star defensive end from the 2012 recruiting class per Scout.com ratings. He was ranked as the 131st best defensive end in the country. Attaway, coming out of high school was 6'4", and 240 pounds. Word is, he is already pushing 260 pounds as he arrives at the Marshall campus.

He apparently will begin his career as a tight end, however, many believe he will be moved to defensive end soon.

Attaway is from Camden County High School in Kingsland, Georgia. He had offers from Florida International, Illinois, and Iowa State, along with Marshall.

Marshall began its search for the next Vinny Curry last March, the arrival of Attaway should ultimately allow Doc Holliday and staff to reach this goal.
