Anderson to Sign Friday

Kevin Anderson verbally committed to Doc Holliday and Marshall University this past July. He has remained fully committed to the Herd throughout the process. He recently took his official visit to the Huntington, West Virginia campus.

I was able to catch up with Anderson earlier this week to talk about his visit and about an important ceremony he will be attending on Friday, November 16th. Anderson is a 6'2", 205 pound quarterback from Boca Raton High School in Boca Raton, Florida. He suffered a season ending injury a few weeks ago and was unable to complete his senior season. As committed as he remained to Marshall, the staff remained equally as committed to Anderson.

Anderson thoroughly enjoyed his visit two weeks ago. He hung out with three other recruits making their official visits throughout the process. "I was actively recruiting them while we were all there, I actually got one receiver to commit. (Josh Knight from Fort Pierce Central High School.)

Anderson was able to meet virtually the entire team on his visit. The team left early on Friday due to playing on Saturday, so he got to spend Friday evening with the players that did not get to dress for the home tilt. Then on Saturday they got to visit the campus. Anderson said, "Saturday we ate breakfast, watched walk throughs and had chapel. We then took a tour of the campus and saw the dorms, then had lunch."

Anderson enjoyed the pre game festivities, and enjoyed his time at the game. After the game he got to hang out with his hosts, Gunnar Holcombe, and Blake and Eric Frohnapfel.

What is the importance of November 16th, 2012 for Kevin Anderson. "I have my signing day ceremony at my school on Friday (Nov. 16th) because of my early enrolment."

Anderson will be signing his Letter of Intent, and enrolling for the spring semester at Marshall University.

Other commits for the Herd thus far are:

Cody Collins – Offensive lineman from Archbishop Alter High School, Ohio

Gerald Wright – Offensive Lineman from Miami Florida

Michael Selby – Offensive Lineman from Sandersville, Georgia

Josh Knight – Wide Receiver from Fort Pierce, Florida
