Marshall Welcomes Two to Campus

A week after the season came to an abrupt end for the Thundering Herd, the coaching staff's job continues. Spending the last week on the recruiting trail, the staff continues to extend offers to some of the best Junior College and High School talent in the country. This weekend, Marshall will welcome at least two recruits to town on their official visits.

The first recruit is Gerald Wright. Wright has already committed to the Herd and according to various social media outlets is an extremely solid commitment. Wright will come in and help to continue to add talent to the offensive line.

Wright is a 6'4", 305 pound offensive guard from the recruiting hot bed of South Florida. Wright attends Miami's Northwestern High School. He is currently rated 3 stars, and is ranked as the 83rd best offensive guard in the country.

Wright expects to arrive in Huntington as soon as his school year ends to begin his college career.

The second visitor is a linebacker from Hallandale, Florida. The ultra athletic linebacker is named Aaron Plantt, with two t's. Plantt has multiple offers, including offers from Utah State, and Western Michigan. Plantt is a 6'1", 202 pound linebacker.

It was reported in August that Plantt had committed to Utah State. However, he still intends on visiting Marshall this weekend.

Plantt falls into the category that the staff has been looking for in regards to its linebacker corp. Plantt is a fast, athletic player who could play as a linebacker or safety.

Currently Marshall returns Deon Meadows, Kent Turene, Jermaine Holmes, Billy Mitchell, Raheem Waiters, Evan McKelvey, and Gary Thompson.

Stay tuned to for further updates. There have been two reported commitments that we are working to verify and update accordingly.
