Marshall Signs Two

Doc Holliday wasted no time this offseason in restocking his roster. Marshall graduated a very small class this past season, only eight seniors, and has seen some roster attrition since the season ended. Holliday received two signed letters of intent from mid year Junior College Transfers.

The first came from Taj Letman. As we learned last week, Letman committed to the Herd, and signed today. Letman is a tall safety, standing in at 6'3." He had offers from UNC Charlotte, Florida International and Louisiana Lafayette.

In addition to his early arrival, Letman will have three years of eligibility. He is also a three star recruit, and one of the higher rated safety JUCO recruits in the country. His lead recruiter was Coach Pollard.

I caught up with Letman earlier and asked him what made him choose Marshall.

"Man me and Coach Holiday put all the things to offer from every school and I answered them truthfully on a board. I put plusses by the best one and Marshall had the most to offer to me and a brighter future. It is a place where I can fully reach all my goals and it is location where my family can get to the games. Also, my mom loves the coaches."

Letman should battle with freshman Andre Scott for one of the open safety spots.

The second letter of intent came from defensive end Arnold Blackmon. Blackmon is a 6'2", 235 pounds defensive end from Navarro Junior College.

Blackmon can enroll in January and participate in spring practice.

He will battle returning defensive ends Alex Bazzie, Jeremiah Taylor and Rashawde Myers for playing time.
