Marshall Offers Defensive Back

Recruiting season is amping up across the country. Teams are finalizing their commits, and working on securing the commitments they have already received. Marshall is in the same boat, as Doc Holliday and company continue to search the country far and wide for the final pieces to the roster puzzle.

One of the positions being worked on is the Safety position. Marshall lost their two starting safeties, and had already moved two safeties, D.J. Hunter and Raheem Waiters to the linebacker position. The search for more defensive backs has led to another offer out of the Sunshine State.

Da'Wan Hunte is a cornerback that can play Safety as well. Hunte is being recruited by Jajuan Seider and Doc Holliday and does hold an offer from Marshall. Where will he be going to? Hunte knows, but right now he is playing it close to the vest.

Hunte is a 5'10", 170 pound defensive back from Miami Central High School in Miami, Florida. Marshall fans should know that school well as it has produced two of Marshall's current offensive stars.

Hunte knows current Marshall stars Tommy Shuler and Rakeem Cato and said that could help in his decision. "I have a great relationship with both of those guys since we did play high school together and that will play a big factor in my decision."

Hunte had hoped to be an early enrollee, but as it turns out, he will enrollee at the school of his choice after the school year ends.

Hunte currently holds offers from Marshall and Purdue.

Hunte is all about winning and losing, and does not focus on stats. As mentioned before, he has made a decision but as to which school it is, "you will have to wait till signing day."

Stay tuned to for further updates.
