Marshall Lands PSU Transfer

Marshall lost senior wide receivers Aaron Dobson, Andre Snipes-Booker and Antavious Wilson to graduation following the 2012 football season. The Herd has a multitude of young wide receivers, however, they were in need of some immediate experience. Doc Holliday secured that experience today.

Herdhaven.com has confirmed that former Penn State wide receiver Shawney Kersey has enrolled at Marshall and will be eligible immediately. He will have one season to participate. He will join former Penn State transfers, defensive back Derrick Thomas and wide receiver Devon Smith. Smith sat out this past year with an injury. All three will have one final season.

Kersey is a former three star wide receiver from New York. Kersey is 6'2" tall and weighs 197 pounds.

Kersey did not play early in his career but emerged as a starter early this past season, his redshirt junior season. He played just two games, starting against Ohio and Virginia.

Kersey ended his career with 12 catches for 154 yards and no touchdowns.
